Sorry so late. I guess I wasn't paying attention.. Lets see a new topic...

Okay write a poem from the perspective of an inanimate object. (personification) No knives or razors please. Humor is more than welcome :)

coud it be about a body part or animal as long as it is appropriate? if you can, here is mine...

Toes

As children were once told,
Swallowing our gum,
Would make out toes stick together.
We must be careful
When chewing
Making a point to throw it away
Before sleeping and playing.
We were playing
“Duck, Duck, Goose”
In the pond
And chewing bubblegum.
I knew I should throw it away
Before I swam
But I didn’t want to miss out.
Darting back and forth
Between friends,
I in fact
Swallowed my gum.
Terrified
I swam to the nearest shoreline
And ran to the nearest hospital.
Quickly I told the emergency doctor.
Looking down upon me,
He smiled
And laughed
As he walked away.
I felt a tear
Forming in my eye
And I watched it fall
As it hit the ground.
It was then that I noticed
I was too late.
I had webbed yellow feet,
That’s when I realized
I never had toes,
And that I am in fact
A duck.
What you do with your life is only half of the equation, the other half, the more important half, is who you're with when you're doing it.

Well, thanks for the idea Becky! I actually like this poem and will send it in to be put up on the site:)

THROUGH A PEN

This pen holds nothing
Nothing but it's ink inside
It has no true meaning
It has no life

This ink flows freely
As I set the tip to this blue-lined white top
The black inked pen somehow comes to life
It speaks for my heart, my soul, my thoughts

Somehow every inch of me is revealed
All through something held in my hand again
It's my only way to speak freely
~Through a pen

This pen holds nothing
Nothing but my soul, nothing but my heart
Then it speaks everything for me
Everything that completes me and everything that tears me apart

Calendar

I watch you with unseen eyes
Watching time pass you by
Every month I shed new skin
and every year I die

I remember things you forget
I control time with just a look
I have all your important dates set
You turn my pages often like a book

I know you so well
You write little notes to remember
I hang on your wall by a single nail
I'll be with you all year, but my time will come in December

I watch you get through another night
I really wish i could stay
I hope you make it through life alright
I'll be here until you cross out my final day.

I wrote this one a while back but I think it fits here so I figured I would add it to the poems just because.....

SUCH IS LIFE

Here I am setting alone
pushed around till I am out of the way
forgotten

My Back is crooked from the abuse
my legs are strong
yet I do not run

I am here, always
watching you eat your fancy meals
without care

Ignored, I am
until you step on me to make yourself bigger
What do I expect

One day I will be tossed away
Unneeded, broken, replaced by something new
Still, I just sit here

Ah well, such is the life of a chair
