One Key
28 December, 2003
Author: Clive B Ringshall
We thought this moment never would be,
Worlds apart never did we see,
Drifting along so carefree,
I found a key, not knowing where it’d fit,
I saw you in my heart, even though we were apart,
Took a chance and asked you to dance,
We laughed as we held, I found my lock,
Dare I knock in fear you’d flock,
Use the key I’ll try,
Turn it slowly be careful not to break,
This can be no mistake,
I feel your love caring, well worth sharing,
The key touches your heart but cannot turn,
This lock has broken before,
To mend I’ll fix it more, and try again,
I’ll explain never complain,
A heart repaired, Trust to build,
Two souls to be fulfilled
By the turn of one key.
