Alice

Alice stepped into another world,
A world of happiness, the dream of any girl.
Hatters and hares she saw every day.
Rabbits and dormice let her have her say.

A mad old queen - "OFF WITH HER HEAD!"
A soft old king who was easliy led.
A tortoise, a caterpillar, even a rose,
And all because Alice under a tree dozed.

The sweetest dreams she had each night,
Content and restful with her eyes shut tight.
It's a shame everything's not like this, though.
Not everyone can play croquet with flamingoes.

A lot of people scream when they sleep.
Too far in their thoughts, locked deep in their dreams.
They wake every night, covered in sweat,
Far from the plans that Alice had set..
