hear my heart's echo:

"i closed the eyes to my mind
and opened the eyes of my heart
to let in the echo of my heart"

i close the eyes to my mind
i open the eyes of my heart
i feel you close by

the touch of your voice
brings me moments of happiness
please do not ever take the sound of your voice away

i close the eyes to my mind
i open the eyes of my heart
i feel the warmth of your presence close by

the touch of your love
brings me moments of bliss
please do not ever take that touch away

i close the eyes to my mind
i open the eyes of my heart
just to feel you close by

the spirit of your soul
brings me moments of peace
please do not ever take that peacefulness away

i close the eyes to my mind
i open the eyes of my heart
to feel you close by

the love that you give
gives me a shower of rainbows
my eyes draw many a tears
please do not ever take my tears away

i close the eyes to my mind so tightly
i open the eyes of my heart
waitin' to feel you close by

the embrace of your heart
wrapped around mine
keeps me calm and safe
my heart feels complete
please do not ever take that completness away

i close the eyes to my mind tighter than before
i open the eyes of my heart
i drop down to my knees
and ask God to bring you before me
so i can have your in the flesh close by

hear my hearts echo
please do not ever take that moment of prayer away

i close the eyes to my mind
i open the eyes of my heart
i take a peek
i find you
standin' close by there you are the echo of my heart
holdin' my heart in your hand
clingin' close to your heart

thank you for not takin' your echo away

i have learned to recognize the echo of my heart by closin' the eyes of my mind and see with the eyes of my heart so that i cain feel you close by every day..it's no big secret..."you are the echo of my heart" oh God if you could just feel love through me ...sigh....

The Wiz
Reminds me of the Wiz tape, with Nipsey Russell playing the tinman, and Dorothy (played by Diana Ross) opens his empty heart and says "hello" and hears nothing but an echo. If I heard an echo in my heart, I'd shake in my boots! Glad you enjoy your echo though! But seriously, I know what you mean; and I'm in love with your poem!
