Innocent Wife, sentenced To Life

I'ts been 8 years now
since you passed away,
1997,
3:10pm,
21st of may.

We didnt have a care in the world,
we had just finished of paying our mortgage,
and we were expecting our
first little baby girl,

you took me to the cinema
for our fisrt date,
but we had to leave half way through
as you didnt want to upset my parents
by getting me home to late.

I still remember the first time we kissed
down by the lake,
we both didnt want to leave,
so this time you didnt care if you got me home
late!

Two years down the line
you got on one knee
and asked me to be your wife..
"Lucy I love you so much
please say yes and become my life".

We got married on a hot july day,
promised each other that
we would stay together no matter what happens,
come what may.

Then 8 years ago while walking through the park,
a gang of youths started taking the piss out of your
stammer,
you confronted their attitude
so they decided to hit you over the head with a hammer.

Then they finished you off with a knife.

The killer got Ten years,
but only served five,
he killed with a knife,
but Im the one who feels like Ive been
sentenced to life.

------- Author's Notes -------

I feel that the justice system is letting us down.
A man over here in the uk raped a girl of 12
and only got 8 years!and he will only serve half of that!

if I made the laws,a rapist who got caught would have his testicals cut off.

A killer would be sentenced to death.

A thief would have his hands cut off.
Just seems that nowdays the victims are treated like criminals.
