Look at a photograph
Of me without you;
I look happy,
Do you not agree?
Look closer and you can see
That smile isn't me;
But something I conjured up
So I'd look happy.
My one true happiness
Was when I was with you
Despite the fact it was only for
A day, or maybe two.
My heart has never been the same
Since you took it and broke it,
Shattered it time and
Time again.
And my smile will never be as bright
So when you see a picture of me and you realize
My smile doesn't look quite right,
You'll finally know what my facade has been about all the while.
