I meant to say I miss you,
But I flustered and didn't instead;
I really wanted to kiss you
But my feelings got mislead.
I wanted to hold your hand,
But mine balled up in anguish;
I want you here to console me,
That is my only wish.
I want you here with me
So you'd be right here by my side;
I need you here to hold me
And tell me everything will be alright.
But sometimes I don't say what I mean
And I don't mean what I say,
And those things I don't mean
Tend to get in the way.
I meant to say I need you
That's why I'm writing this;
And I meant to say I love you...
Which in my own way, I just did.

The Unrequited Dream! Yeah, I know what you mean. Just on last night I said something to someone, but it didn't quite come out as I thought it would. The times I spend trying to choose the correct words to say, end up making matters worse when the situation takes place. Real good poem U Dream!

Thank you so much, I'm glad you could identify with this poem, all about the bumblings and ramblings to someone you like out of nerves or even out of fear of being hurt. In this poem, it was more toward the feelings of the latter. ;) Thanks for commenting! :)
