Distance
17 June, 2005
Author: Clive B Ringshall
Through time we talk to hear you near,
Through time we talk with visions clear,
Once so young with hair so dark,
Now age comes to steel your youth away,
I, see hairs so grey you too see grey in me,
Once care free in all we’d do,
Now responsible thinking we seem to do.
In the distance of my mind so clear,
I hear mum calling your name ‘oh dear’
Trouble would follow who did this? Not me,
Trendy you dressed name brands a must,
A car you drove, permission slid by,
That car you wrecked, and walked away clean,
As you aged and jobs came and went,
Moving others you did with fun,
Put the kettle on its now time for tea,
Standing at the end for the tip in the hand,
Paramedic you now are and have been some time,
Touching others life’s you do everyday,
When not at work, saving another,
You’re the Dad at home with your family so proud.
