Dear Daddy

Author: Terrie*
dear daddy
i miss you
i stand by the front door
and i whisper to God
to allow ya
to bring a good cigar
for fathers day
by the time you arrive
you'll find me sittin'
out back
probably sauced and teary eyed
as i reminicse of the happy past
while my son B B Q's
the neighbors ,find me tokin'
on an expensive cigar
remindin' me of the last
special moment you and i shared
ashamed , embarrased who me?
heck no sirree
daddy i pretend to be all grown up
remember thats what gets me by
by pretendin'
just as i sit here with my eyes closed
pretendin' that you
and your son-in-law are sitttin
close by
enjoin' a tall malt with me
every fathers day
i think about you
every fathers day
i end up missin' you more
than the days that have gone by
this fathers day
since i have to be a t work
i'm gonna be pretendin'
that i'm at the beach
so i cain feel you closer to my reach
Daddy i miss you!
Daddy i love you!
