Dad you smile
i miss
your hugs
still linger and
have a tight grip on me

our special moments
of sharin' a cup of coffe with you
i miss the most

it was our time of conversation
our time as daughter and dad

sometimes you forgot
that i was your daughter-in-law
but i didn't mind
cause you thought of me as your own flesh
and that meant alot to me

there was a time
the final time that i got to know your mind and heart
before it faded away

yet in your own mind you knew of me when
you gave me that special hug
that only you and i shared

dad i miss you upon every risin' sun
upon every driftin' cloud
and upon the final of the day
when the sun settles down

dad i miss you all of the days
my heart was yours
from the moment we met
as father and daughter -in-law

i was the envy among my friends
for the bond that
i shared with you and my two other moms
envy me not i'd say
cause they are my family

i still have that card you gave me
when i lost your first grandchild
you wrote:

"Honey, a tear is never wasted
for every tear has a story to tell
let every tear fall
when it feels the need for an escape
there will be a day
when your tears will fall for me
let your tears fall freely sweet daughter of mine
not just because dad said you could
but because no one can take away your tears
never allow another to say to you

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD

my dad was daddy, my father in law was my dad i miss and love them both equally cause they both treated me equally..and my tears come out when they feel confined.
i cherish that card..
