My Brave Cousin
19 June, 2005
Author: Paige W
I'm sitting here with nothing to do
Trying just to keep my mind off losing you
We lost you about a week ago
And I wanted very badly for you to know
That you were in our prayers
And we didn't want you to go
Even though you're in a better place
I'm still going to miss you
When I heard
My heart began to race
I couldn't say a word
But now I feel a little better since you were happy with your occupation
The bravest person I know
Fighting for his nation
Thank you my heroic cousin
For helping give this freedom to me
I'll always think of you when I look out to sea
My proud cousin
Who was a United States Marine.
------- Author's Notes -------
