i was pleasantly taken
by heavenly surprise
this afternoon
while i was e-mailin' my best friend
it was like a day
of paradise came to be a part of my day

someone rang the silent bell
cause my puppies started barking wildly
a gentleman holdin'
2 dozen yellow roses
greeted me at my front door
wearing a warm smile

he politely asked me if i was Terrie ****
i replied
uuh.. yes sir i am..
he said Miss these are for you

i had no clue
as from whom they could be
no card was displayed
that puzzled me

i thanked him and gave him a tip
and i shared a warm smile and one rose
for deliverin' my gift

i sat by the fireplace
admirin' the roses
i placed on top of the t.v
wonderin' from whom could they be

just then my phone rang
it was a friend
all he asked was
if the roses had arrived
and added
you know what to do

later in the day
i saw another friend sittin' on my porch
lookin' lost, shared his troubles with me
i gave him 1 rose and asked him
if he wouldn't mind

drivin' me to the childrens hospital
just down the way
to get him away from his present mood

i took the remaindin' 22 roses
and shared them with a little girl
whom almost lost her life

we gave one another a strong embrace
she shared one back with me
and gave my friend one too
they exchanges hugs just as well

and as soon as the tears started to roll
i gave her one more hug

i turned to the mom
hugged her and whispered we must go
i whispered to my friend to walk me out

my friend forgot about why he was feelin' down
he turned around to kiss me and said
terrie when i take you back home
i'm gonna share what you just shared with me

something i will value for days to come
it was not i whom shared
what you felt
i said ,it was you and
your soul understood where to go
just as i knew where those roses were supposed to go
