My Crystal Heart

you alway's treated me
as if my heart was made of crystal
you were always
and forever, over protectin' me
if you felt that harm was comin' my way
you would shelter me
and keep me safe
one day life threw
an unexpectin' curve my way
it knocked me down to my knees
as an ocean of tears were released
my crystal heart shattered
no man has ever been able to replace
this crystal heart of mine
there would always be a missin' piece
within side of me
i doubt that any other man
would take the time
to shelter and protect this
crystal heart of mine
in the way you did
to protect it
before you died.
