Skin Deep
2 July, 2005
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
Beneath this mask I hide under
is a person I don't want you to see
Not the picture on the outside
but the beauty and fragility that is me
Can you see who I really am
the one under the paint and piercings
Will you take a chance to look beyond
the facade that I am wearing
If you can not take the time
to look deeper than the skin
Why should my time be spent on you
trying your approval to win
For those who brave to really look
a treasure you will find
Beneath the ugliness your eyes see
Is a soft heart with a beautiful mind

Martin Vann (63.25.144.14) -- Friday, July 8 2005, 04:38 pm Very, lovely, poem. Shadows are the heart's disguise. We create the clothing then where them in the sun-light, where our ture heart, is afraid to go, we fear to let them know, all the love is deep inside. Shadows are a passage to the treasures unknown. |
