The Lord Of The Dance
5 July, 2005
Author: Ing Twi Demalah
I have seen those tears before
Same eyes, yet a different face
All light seems to have faded
A smile vanished without a trace
A heart less willing to take a chance
Come with me and learn my love
For I am the lord of the dance
Has the joy of living so left you
That all your countenance is grey
Wounded by judgmental words
The hurtful things that people say
Now I am here my love, not by fate or circumstance
There are only two that matter my love, you
And the lord of the dance
I’ll take away the pain my love
I’ll make your dreams come true
For there is only you and I in this waltz
All grey skies now are blue
I will give to you faith once more in romance
Every night like champagne and candle light
Because I am the lord of the dance
------- Author's Notes -------
This poem was a "stream of thought" poem so it almost wrote itself.I am not sure myself what i was going for, except that often times life seems like a performance and we have to win the crowd for acceptance. But for the one we love we need only be ourselves. |
