Appreciatin' What Is Ours
8 July, 2005
Author: Terrie*
life by candle light
darkness through the night
helped us gather our thoughts
to appreciate what is ours
even though we so often keep stored
deep within our hearts
into the quietness
where you cain focus
a place that is as close as your heart
where God exist the most
in the stillness
you cain hear him speak
you cain see your life
flashin' before your eyes
where you've been
what you've seen
and how far life will take you
you are awaken
of what you may lose
hard to believe
but we all take
many things in life for granted
we both felt the same surge
we both felt the same weakness
that was taken away
and the same strength
that was replaced
as our hearts and souls
connected and embraced
i felt the tear drop
that came from his eye
as he felt
the touch
of my heart breakin
we both felt the calmness
within our heart's
when the soothin' touch
of God's whisper
asked us to confess all, and be new
we confessed
our heart and soul to our Lord
we asked for his forgiveness
in all error of our ways
as we both battle
the temptations placed in our path
we saw the big wooden cross
we both felt the same
as we confessed
what we honor
and what we are blessed with
as soon as the retreat was over
we both ended up by the phone booth
both had the same thought in our hearts
we have two children
stayin' w/their God Gran'ma
we both embraced in silence
we are so blessed
and how we miss them so much
both had the same thought
we called them and said
i love you daughter !!
i love you son!!
turn to each other and said
i love you too!!
we confess with tears
we are sooo Blessed
