Thye Day The Music Died

How can you abuse,
And take what you use,
And make it your own?
The anger I feel,
Over each record deal,
Goes right to the bone.

If you could feel,
Exactly what I do,
Well, I'll play my CDs to you,
But we're just hearing,
Different things.

To turn something so great,
Into something I hate.
To make something fantastic,
Into something so plastic.

And all the idiots,
Walls covered in posters,
How they drink up your lies,
Logic defies.

And when people got wise,
(I say loosely)
To the pop-machine,
Yeah, you know what I mean.
When pop-princesses and boy bands,
Stopped raking in money,
I though it was funny.
But out with the old,
And in with the new,
"Rock" was the new pop,
Pathetic but true.

You with your mansions,
Spot the next craze.
Teens in a daze,
Loving Avril and Busted.

Because rock is the new cool.
You know just the ones to fool,
Well, I won't be one of them.
I'll fight for music to stay alive.
If it can only survive,
It'll be one thing that's,
Still here.

I don't want any,
Second-hand soap stars,
Teenagers in wonder bras,
(Got to get the guys too eh?)
I'm just having my say.
And if it continues this way.
Music will be dead.

Keep exploiting morons,
Be it the "singer" or buyer,
Raise the bar any higher,
And you'll kill it all.
Music is the only thing we can depend,
On, that won't come to an end.

Find something else to,
Fatten up your bank account.
There's willing idiots everywhere,
You won't have to look far,
'Til you find where they are.
Just leave music alone,
Find something else to own.

Before it's too late.

------- Author's Notes -------

This poem expresses my anger at people who manufacture music, on programs such as "Pop Idol" or whatever. And more recently, using genres such as rock to sponge off people too, with commercial "creations" such as Avril Lavigne and the like. Music is one of the most important things in the world to me, and for people to exploit it in such a fshion makes me angry.

its already dead...

music is already dead... the good sounds are now jumbled rythms... lyrics no longer have meaning, joy or cause, but only words hardly sung by a man or woman who doesnt even know the words they say...
