I don’t want to jinx this, as it may not be my fate,
But I’m so glad I got out of it, before it got too late.
The roofs are dipped in sunlight; music is kissing my ears,
I no longer have to grasp hold of this feeling, before it disappears.
The sky is as blue as the sea below, the air so fresh to breathe,
A smile tickles the edge of my lips, for once I do believe.
Although the journey has been long, and I’ve still got a way to travel,
I’ll keep treading my sadness into the ground, not afraid of what may unravel.
Energy once dormant is rising up; I’m running from my past,
I can finally say I’m free to live, I just hope it lasts.
------- Author's Notes -------
This one is about coming out of my depression, something which I hope is permanent. |
