War Of Minds
22 July, 2005
Author: Holly
Your spitting fires you think so clever,
The passion in your lies keeps us together.
***
Numb me so I don’t go mad,
The most alive I’ve ever felt.
If all this is the truth,
Don’t ask me to start again.
Don’t you dare breathe, ‘cause I might kill you,
The naked truth is ever so ugly.
It shatters your glass eyes to see me cry,
I’ll keep hurting ‘til I say when.
The walls are painted with our words,
Like the blood drips from your tongue.
Scars in your mind, dark thoughts are cutting,
You get yours, I get mine.
Belief blew out the window,
Your voice rattles my soul.
Our love rotten with the secrets we kept,
Now ourselves we can’t define.
Amidst the sour bullets we fire,
Are the cries of our aching hearts.
And when the river runs dry,
We’re both drenched in defeat.
I’m so happy I could die,
They say pain is pleasure.
Let’s never speak again,
There’s dignity at our feet.
------- Author's Notes -------
This is basically an argument between two people, from one person's point of view. By the way, every fourth line rhymes with the next fourth line, I'm not sure why I did it that way. I guess forcing rhymes for every line would have ruined it. |
