The Quietude Of You
30 July, 2005
Author: Pondering Red
You're kinda cute.
You're ageing pretty well,
a few nics here and there...
gives you character, as they say.
You've got personality, baby-
vitality-a certain je ne sais crois.
You look dreamy,
especially when dawn gives you
a golden tinge
and dusk glows on you tangerine.
It becomes you famously.
You have great taste- timeless and timely
with a bit of moderne thrown in.
The plants love ya.
They radiate a vibrant green delight.
You have a myriad of corners and niches
I have yet to discover-
all those appealing hidden delights of you
that look so enticing.
Some say you have some cobwebs gathering-
Oh well-it adds to your charm.
We've shared many seasons together-
Snowfalls and rainfalls and
some unexpected jolts
of earthquake magnitude.
Yes, you have been cold at times,
but for the most part cool
and indeed warm and actually
extremely hot.
I've been happy, sad, glad and
even really mad with you !
You hold a collection of knowledge of
fine books- many philosophys
and you have displayed prints of masters
and creative unknowns.
You hold many secrets deep inside you-
many storys of others adventures
and daily struggles.
You often speak in whispers
of soulful truths of people
who have pased through your realm.
Ah, you are good solitude and quietude.
You compliment my yearning
to be true to my deeper self.
We compliment each other.
I go to you to find solace.
Yes, we have traveled far, you and I.
I find peace in you.
Yes, old house-
We have journeyed well together-
You and I.
