Communication
3 August, 2005
Author: Ing Twi Demalah
Why is it when we are talking,
We wish it could last all night
Then in the midst of the conversation
You take a “left” and I am standing on the right
Are we speaking different languages
Do the words some how get lost
If I say tomato, you say vanilla
I think our wires are crossed
Remember when I held you close
I said “my dear I love you truly”
Then you got mad and started yelling
“WHO THE HELL IS JULIE”
Do you not see how confused I am
How often this causes frustration
How can two people say so much
And still have no communication
This problem I see is progressive
And with time will only get worse I fear
I had better get used to nodding my head
And saying only “of course, you’re right my dear.”

Meridian (70.106.29.239) -- Sunday, February 5 2006, 01:57 am I'm befuddled....discombobulated....baffled.... Ing, didn't you have a wife? Wasn't her name Sarah? Now you have a fiance? This must be fiction right? Of course you don't have to answer if you don't wish to. But I thought for sure, I read the word wife in one of your "Author's Notes"....now I see the word "fiance". Maybe I'm seeing illusions. All in all, very true poem! |
Ing Twi Demalah (159.105.102.9) -- Tuesday, March 14 2006, 09:29 pm Yes she is my wife, these are not put on this site in chronilogical order and the original title was My Fiance Is From Venus. So that kind of carried over in the author's notes on this poem. :-) |
