With You Laying By My Side

Author: ShyHeart
I saw it coming, but it was so far away
Then I saw your note, you wrote Hell-O, this is my, Goodbye
Seems your eyes have been closed,
Lost in your own dream for some time
Now, I set you free, here is your heart's walking cane
Since then, I have stumbled over broken hearts and dreams
Seems I always find a way, without your cane, I would be blind
Moving forward in a slow way, trying not to step on any heart
Sometimes my vision clears, I stumble back to you & my dream
You would have supper ready, I would come home late and eat it cold
Then I would say, sorry, I was late, the world needs, it's piece of me
You would smile, then walk away to the telephone and call some friend
I never listened in, you were in a place, I had never wanted you to be in
Then I saw your note, you wrote Hell-O, this is my Goodbye
Seems your eyes have been closed, lost in your own dream for some time
Came home late to many times, ate my supper cold, went to bed alone,
With You Laying By My Side
