Fly Free
21 August, 2005
Author: Devilyangelic
Bound by others conformity,
forced to hide the real me.
But like a rainbow in a pure sky of blue,
my true colours remain adamant at shining through.
Tied down by others who don't think my way is right,
they attempt to dim the part of me that shines so bright.
But nothing can darken my colours of so many,
still they fail to espy the long ago dropped penny.
Suppressed as they don't share my train of thought,
as against me every step of the way they've fought.
If only they would realise,
that I see the world with my own eyes.
Trapped is something I'd no longer feel,
as maybe I'd get to spin this wheel?
For that to me would be a time to rejoice,
when for the first time they let me make my own choice.
Snared in their clutches no more would I be,
as I rebelled against their overwhelming conformity.
Stood up for myself and used as a doormat no longer,
as their every restriction would make me stronger.
Pressured persistently to do what they think is right,
but no more as this bird prepares to take flight.
Leaving every rule and restriction far behind me,
at last I escape these chains and prepare to FLY FREE!
