Don't Waste Your Dreams On Me

don't waste your dreams on me
i'm like a prism in a hologram
don't role your dice
at my command
i cain blow away like sand
i'm an hour glass
time is mine alone
yet it is time i do not own
but i'll gladly give you my time
i have so much time to give
just say when and where and i am so there
as a friend , for you a shoulder i willinly bare
memories to make and share
a tear drop to catch
a body to hug
don't throw away your life waiting for me
look out through the window of your soul
not from behind the shadows that stand hold
look up towards the sky
cain you see the birds fly on by?
see how they perform
with so much grace
they are not in a race
they live like you and me carefree
day by day free as cain be
watching every rainbow appear after every storm
catching rain upon their tiny feathers
flyin' through the silver linin' of heavens clouds
absorbin' the rays of the sun
dreamin' in the arms of the moon
don't waste your tears on me
any time you need me
day or night, near or far
yes i'll be there to hold you up until the end
but please i ask you just one thing
do not waste your last dreams on me
it isn't far to you nor me
if any one in this life must wait for a dream
let it be me

Luke Christopher (66.190.33.58) -- Sunday, August 28 2005, 02:08 am I'm sorry to hear of your loss. This is a beautiful poem. It's no wonder he held on to it. I've been away for a long time, and have dealt with my own tragedy lately. Hang on to your memories. After they leave us...Memories are all we have left. God bless. |
