Into The Summer Sunset
28 August, 2005
Author: Terrie*
as i held you so close
i felt your soul
brush against my heart
i held your hand
as you squeezed mine so tight
i planted a last kiss
upon your lips
i felt what you had felt
with out givin' up
i saw you as you walked into the light
from the darkness of the life
you left behind, into another world
as i sat next to your beloved wife
the beauty and love you felt in your heart
has become a part of me
as i watched you fade away
into the summer sunset
i felt a tug at my heart
i felt the warm embrace of your shadows kiss
as the ocean's waves
washed the last tear away
sadness always follows
when a life is taken away
the end of life always ends like this
we all wish one cain' live forever
i now hold in my arms an empty shell
that knew love so well
no regrets do i have
for you enterin' my life
many regrets i will live
to see you depart
yet you left me
a very big part of your heart
that will remind me that you filled
a once empty chamber inside my own heart
