Torment

Torment
Scream.
Get it out.
Run.
Get away.
But you can’t.
You try… but you are unable.
What is this thing that chases you?
It’s gaining on you.
You can feel it behind you.
Its footsteps echo yours.
It’s all around you.
Haunting your every step.
You hear screams of pain.
My god… they’re yours.
How long has it been chasing you?
As long as you can remember.
Every time it catches up with you….
The horrible things it does to you!
Please God… Please?!?!?
Don’t let it catch me again!
It’s dark.
You’re so scared!
You’re in a room.
It’s in here!
It’s behind you.
It’s hideous! The horrible things it’s done!
You can never out run it!
You must face it!
You turn. There it is.
You stare at the monster.
It’s right in front of you.
As it always is.
In the mirror.
