Safe In Angels Wings
30 August, 2005

Wings that have soared I ask of you,
don't fail me now elevate me to a world of blue.
Take me away from this hurtful place,
allow me to feel the wind embrace.
My soft warm body as we take my soul,
hold me so tight never let me fall.
Whisk me to the clouds way up high,
brush me with your angelic wings as wordlessly I cry.
Guard and protect me with your shield tonight,
help this sweet soul finally see the light.
For I have been blinded by that devil called pain,
but more than anything I want to come through this rain.
Singledom beckons it's found a space for me,
apparently this is the place to be.
Though I've been there many times I must concur,
that you won't hurt as much once you are there.
So I fall to my knees and let out many sighs,
craving inner peace as I gaze toward the skies.
Frustrated tearlets run down my sorry face,
as it dawns on me I'm never going to leave this place.
The moment I least expect it I'm being taught to fly,
finally granted my wish as I kiss this place goodbye.
Inner peace and no more hurt pledge to be my things,
as I find myself flying high SAFE IN ANGELS WINGS!!!
