Clasping My Dream

Looking at my hand I see dry is my palm,
as beneath the surface I remain calm.
Breezing through life as if I'd been reborn,
my path seems clear as I'm no longer torn.
Between my head and my heart wondering what to do?
as I've found the courage to start anew.
Lost no longer as answers I find,
realising some of my insecurities were all in my mind.
My future appears brighter than ever,
as my heart and mind learn to work together.
Setting aside their differences I feel them bind as one,
entwining together as they help me step into the sun.
Peace of mind at last I've found,
as my heart reclaims a better sound.
Breaking no more as my hurt is set free,
it mirrors my rhythm and beats for me.
I never dreamt that this drumming I'd hear,
but as each beat pounds I wipe away a tear.
At the joy of having reached this stage,
when I'd convinced myself I'd never turn the page.
However I did and here I stand,
recognising just what I hold in my hand.
To others barren it may seem,
but to me I see clearly I'm CLASPING MY DREAM!!
