Embrace My Destiny

Trapped no longer,
as I see my heart's became stronger.
Learnt to take each blow on the chin,
aware that it shouldn't stop me from letting others in.

Looking out for me for the very first time,
but I realise now that I was punishing myself for someone elses crime.
So from this night on I will try to refrain,
from beating myself up about those who caused me pain.

In my heart I hold the belief that this could come true,
as for more than long enough I've been blue.
I seek a different colour that will reflect the true me,
stepping outside of my life so clearly I see.

A beautiful array of colours that I have always possessed,
but through the words of others I had not guessed.
That the answer to my pain was staring me in the face,
so with wide open arms I prepare to embrace.

The wonder that is I,
as my tears I dry.
Fully equipped to take on the world,
in addition to whatever else to me that is hurled.

Weary of running and getting nowhere,
yet it's not my feet that have suffered wear and tear.
Focussed on the future and what lies in store for me,
as for the first time ever I'm eager to EMBRACE MY DESTINY!!!
