My Own Voice

Making you believe that you deserve to hurt this way,
leaving you under no illusion that you'll never be okay.
Profusely takes all you have to give,
causing your faith to erode with fib after fib.
Beginning to absorb the words that she used,
your soul gives up the fight as your heart lays abused.
Trust you built is broken just like your dreams,
as the tears you cry flow like the streams.
Questioning your right to feel loved and adored,
seeking your built up confidence that once more she's floored.
Attempting to fight back,
but she's convinced you that the courage you lack.
If you were to search way deep down,
hiding like your smile does beneath your frown.
You would not be able to fail to espy,
that your soul has not gave up to die.
It just needs time to nurture and heal,
fear not as this way you won't always feel.
A new day for you awaits to be taken,
the pain that you're in will subside and soon you'll awaken.
Your pain and strength as they bind as one,
just at the point when you believe all hope is gone.
Looking back now I wish I'd made the choice,
to silence hers and listen to MY OWN VOICE!!!
