Waits For Me

A tiny baby with a heart of gold,
always a delight and a pleasure to hold.
Vulnerable and accustomed to harm,
still on the surface I remain calm.
The little girl that still lives in me,
longs to be loved and from hurt set free.
To roam this life at my own speed,
in the hope that one day my pain they'll read.
A shy adolescent who lived suppressed,
who dreamt of the day she'd feel tenderness.
Never letting die her take me away urge,
as her pain and heartache began to merge.
The young lady without a name,
remained in the shadows but soon became.
An amazing woman with a heart that's pure,
but feared to love and remained insecure.
Still love I seek to find and the one,
praying that she hasn't already gone.
Pledging to myself that love I deserve,
finally to reach out I find the nerve.
To open up and hide no more,
as on my past I close the door.
Dreaming that somewhere there will be,
the right one who WAITS FOR ME!!!
