Too Good Of A Friend

I want to give up on this life,
My emotions are overwhelming,
These feelings are multiplying,
My head is about to burst,
I never thought it’d come to this,
I couldn’t imagine this if I tried,
Such disrespect no understanding,
Of any feeling I’ve ever had,
Too caught up in their own,
The state of mind they are in,
No understanding of another,
Only full of the disrespect,
Disrespect is a common word,
These days I see it a lot,
A lot more than I wish to,
How do I make it go away?
What are friends anyway?
I haven’t yet to find a good one,
I’m so honest and loving,
Then get treated the opposite,
I don’t understand anymore,
How giving love gets hate,
I get talked about behind me,
Hurtful things not needed,
I won’t retaliate and do the same,
I’m not a bitchy friend,
I’m a friend, too good of one,
At least that’s what she says,
How can someone be too good?
I treat her too well she says,
How is that even possible,
I’ve given away too much already,
I won’t fight back with them,
Just lose another friend I guess,
Another friend too many,
All they do is cause me stress,
So why am I trying so hard?
Being so nice to these asshole’s,
They deserve much less,
I’m just too good a friend I guess.

------- Author's Notes -------

I've realized poetry isn't just about rhyming. It's about the feeling of the poem, the meaning trying to come across. You have to read it from your heart to understand it, it's meaning.
