Daddy's Home
15 September, 2005
Author: Terrie*
the aroma of breakfast wakes us up
as it enters every room in our home
the fragrance of that familiar pleasant manly smell
wakes my heart up
mmmmmm soooo sweet
i look out the window and i see
The lawn is freshly manicured
The rose garden is thrivin’ and alive
The birds are chirpin’ with sweet melodies
The sun woke up the stars and the moon
So that they could witness love comin’ home
The bills have all been paid
the dry cleanin' has been picked up
The car no longer sits idle in the garage
The fridge and cupboards
Are no longer bare
the children and i are wisked in his lovin' embrace
i melt as he takes me into his arms
The neighbors all clap and cheer
as the last yellow ribbon gets Untied
from the tree in front of our home
The puppies are in shock
They seem to be wonderin’
whom is this man,
that will sleep with mom
Would he mind
if we still snuck in, to snuggle up
and keep warm, late at night
As we lay by her side?
Oh what a blessin’ to our home
No way, no how
could I have done it all on my own
much longer all alone
The 4th settin’ at the table has been set
We all worked up a tender appetite
The children are full of joy
Mommy’s tears have been dried
Thank you dear Lord
For sendin’ this Blessin’ to the children and i
Before I lay down at the end of the day
I ask...
Dear Lord please don’t take him away
for you Darlin'
i say with a lonely tear drawn from my eye
"Welcome Home"
i felt a tender flutter and a soft whisper in my heart
do not worry my child
"Love, found it's way home, Daddy's Home To Stay"
