The Brilliant Night Sky

A clear night sky where a vast expanse lies
Nothing to beat the spectacle
what a wonderful treat to my eyes.
Stars shining bright with all their very might
Reminds of a million jewels
Scattered on a cool lovely night.
I thought i saw a crown
I thought i saw a reindeer
As i started gaping at the endless stretch
I began to feel very queer.
What a spectacle it is to see the brilliant night sky
With my mind travelling faster, my thoughts running high.
As i gazed and gazed i saw someone leap from the sky
For a moment i was cheated again
by my imagination running wild
A clear night sky where a vast expanse lies
Nothing to beat the spectacle
what a wonderful treat to my eyes...
------- Author's Notes -------
A poem that I wrote three years back. It was a time when I stayed in a hostel along with my friends. Every night, me and my friends used to gape at the endless sky. It was a baffling experience. Lo, came the poem... |
