The Unsung Hero
21 September, 2005
Author: Newage Caveman
One Monday morning
On a long winding street
A biker rides his scooter
Did he miss a heartbeat?
A van hits him without warning
And throws him overboard
His head goes down spinning
And he loses his self control
He lands up in a hospital
With a plaster around his leg
His wife couldn’t help crying
“Bring back his leg” did she beg...
As I watched this trauma
I couldn’t help myself
I was alone with my baby sister
Who was weeping by herself?
After trying months of pain did he walk?
With all his mighty will
As he set his foot on solid earth
My body shivered with chill.
As I look back at what had happened
I try not to wipe the tears of mine
But my dad will remain the dauntless hero
Who stood strong against the ravages of time…
One Monday morning
On a long winding street
A biker rides his scooter
Did he miss a heartbeat?
