Just A Hug
22 September, 2005
Author: Devilyangelic
Growing up fast,
though my fourth birthday hadn't passed.
Hugs no more,
as I knelt on the floor.
Craving just a little attention,
still I never repeated words that they'd mention.
So many things for me to miss,
as they stopped my night-night kiss.
Am I so bad,
is this just a fad?
Do they mean to push me away,
am I going to be okay?
My wall never answered that night or any other,
screaming inside for just a hug from my mother.
No hug came,
as they cooed my sisters name.
Over the years they held no guilt,
so an untappable wall around me was built.
Tears kept hidden,
for they were forbidden.
Now they try and get close,
but they rejected me when I needed them the most.
I wish I hadn't had to sit on the rug,
and that I'd told them all I longed for was JUST A HUG?!?!
