His Heart Pains No More
25 September, 2005

He had no one to turn to
Or at least, that’s what he thought
Many friends and us he did have to help him through
If only he looked around and sought

He was so used to the ones
whom only came around on paydays
He was too nice, never learned his lesson
They were the very ones, By whom he was betrayed

He had many others
he never gave himself a chance to see
many were Gods gift
They were like sisters and brothers
If you knew his heart you would agree

He always made himself available to the kids and me
he was the only part of my husband we had left
Until he got married
After that he was never seen
He was the last of his generations seed

alcohol became his one nightstand
His devoted best friend
When his wife left him for someone new

No one could understand
Why, he wanted to be alone with his bottle that weekend
That sorrowful evenin’ he turned into someone we never knew

He drank himself to numb
The pain in his heart
from what i understand, with his gun,he did somethin’

In his right mind he would say was totally dumb
He pulled the trigger twice, many hearts fell apart
he is the one we are missin’

he left no offspring
perhaps a good thing
my children were the closest thing to his own
wish he would of had the opportunity to watch them grow
