That One Summer Night.....
26 September, 2005
Author: Terrie*
(Co-written with our one and only Anchor Man, Ben Franklin)
Preparin’ ourselves and other’s for fallen dreams
When death hits so close to home
we often hear about those, unavoidable screams
In a blink of an eye, his smile was wiped from his face,
all because of a drunk and drugged up race.
In the corridors our ears hear, that chillin' code heard over head
The doctors and nurses did the best that they could
as the patient upon arrival was dead
He dedicated his life to the sick and needy,
tapping in to their pain and fear,
While drivin’ on the freeway
on his way to work, sad to say
To save some life’s, yet lost his own
musicians and actors get awards all the time,
but for me and many others he was always international man of the
year.
Death is a difficult thing to accept
No matter who you are, it was one of their own
An innocent victim of a head on
hit and run
He left a wife and two kids
behind on that tragic night,
and the children are upset that their daddy has gone,
but mummy explains that we have to be strong
and that in time we will move on...
joy riders were the cause
Stole a car and went out and about
Many life’s forever changed, that one summer night
