One More Shadow, All To Myself
27 September, 2005
Author: ShyHeart
Sitting at the bar, each drink, made her feel better,
She started to smile at the shadows, as they walked by
One more drink, she says to herself, just one more drink
I'll take my shadow home, and have him all to myself
One more shadow, as the band plays, last drink, then lights out
She picks up her last drink and as she smiles, to herself
Someone asks, are you here alone? She smiles to the shadow
Yes, I'm all alone, do you have a place to go, then the lights go out
The morning comes, without sunshine, just another shadow asleep, beside me
She turns and asks herself, wonder, will he leave a phone number, Or will he run
Out the door, and pray no one sees his face, as he runs home to his wife
We all love our shadows and tonight, I had another shadow... All to myself
