Behind The Badge
28 September, 2005
Author: Marilyn A F Longfellow
Hit and run, they all have guns!
It's no fun, when they run.
Calm a riot, Save a cat.
Work long hours, sit and chat.
Dragged and bitten, shot and killed!
Give directions, get hot and chlled.
Find the lost, show the way.
Save a life, take away.
Drugs and fights and gangs galore!
Lockem up, shut the door.
In the courts, out again.
Futile feelings, that you never win!
Keeping us safe, from all that's bad.
Our unsung heroes, Behind The Badge!
------- Author's Notes -------
A poem for Rosco Barns, an officer who was almost killed last month, and my brother JP Francis, who is a police officer. |
