Love's Fate

If not love, then where is that fear?
Holding you in torment, as you step on the ground.
Looking both ways, seeking protection,
But none are to be found.
You run through your heart,
Looking at all the emptiness.
Yet in a way, it's full,
Crushing your every helplessness.
Your screams are unheard,
Trying to see the good.
But there is no love, in what has been bestowed.
And what love was to be that should.
Twas it wealth to bring you to such a fate?
How would I know?
I have had a true, caring love.
Yet, you made your problems grow.
Since, this is your fate,
I leave you to dwell.
To ponder, of your love,
For whom you "claim" you love so well...
