Only A Heartbeat Away
30 September, 2005

Your only a heartbeat away,
but still we lay here in silence.
No words spoken, as the room
fills with sadness.
My heart cries in pain, How I
I long to hold you, wrap
you in my arms.
But I dare not avoid your space.
Stillness is filling in my veins
while you toss, and turn as
she blinds your thoughts.
"I love you" my lips whisper, but
you turn as if I don't exist.
No longer do those eyes look
my way, they wander back to her.
Her thoughts you carry always.
Let go... let me love you.
You want her, I can't accept that.
Let your heart love me, I need
your eyes to see me again.

Outstanding!!

Damn, this poem is deep..so deep it hurts to read it. You wrote it in a way that it had me believing that I was the one going through your pain.
