Autumn Arrives
12 October, 2005
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I look at the tree behind the house
Leaves shaking in the breeze
Like thousands of colorful little pinwheels spinning
They fight to hold on for just one more day
Yes, Fall is here
Goosebumps are covering my arms
As I pull a bulky sweater over my head
Warming my skin like a comfortable blanket
Taking care of the chill from the morning air
Yes, Fall is here
Scent of pine filling the air
From the wood burning in the fireplace
Cracking sparks like little fireworks displays
Bringing memories of campfires of yesteryears
Yes, Fall is definitely here.
------- Author's Notes -------
