Life Is Like A Rose
14 August, 2003
Author: Damia
Life is like a rose
It begins as a bud,
protected by strong leaves.
It begins to slowly grow
into a flower.
It's spiraling petals
Are like your life,
never a direct route to somewhere
but it eventually ends.
The color of the petals
are the colors of your lives
Mine are black with red edges
for the tainted world I found.
Some have short thorns,
only for security.
Mine has long thorns
sharp as needles,
For I know I am alone
And I found the truth of our world.
Some of the petals,
they have holes
that have been eaten away
by fiends and foes.
Mine have lots of holes,
for no one knows me,
nor shall they care to.
The ones that did,
all left me for my self.
I am a single black rose,
edges red like blood.
My thorns sharp as needles,
each with a drop of blood,
My holes are there,
yes they are noticeable.
I do believe my rose,
my rose of darkness is withering.

Martin Vann (63.208.62.250) -- Tuesday, March 9 2004, 03:13 pm Damia, I enjoyed your work very much. Your ability to epress in vivid texture, using only words that generate the feeling you have, from the reader is an accomplishment in itself. Edgar Allen Poe was very good at doing that, you should be proud of this ability. Excellent work! Martin V |
Meridian (64.12.96.77) -- Tuesday, March 9 2004, 10:19 pm I try real hard not to dwell on depression when it comes. It's almost like a wall; you can't get past it. But, good comparison between life and a rose Damia! |
