You Quenched My Thirst
24 October, 2005
Author: Terrie*
I thirst for you
I crave your love, your touch to hold me
For so long
I searched in all the wrong places
no one cain feed my heart
forgive or love me as you do
I thirst for your water of life
My life drowned me in tears
My life knocked me down
Until I turned my life around to search you
you carried me across every deep sea
All this time I thought I lost you
I looked as far and as deep and there you were
Waitin’ for me to look into my heart and take a peek
All this time you were waitin’ for me
a sinner yet still i remain
a child deep in your veins
you quenched my thirst
You showed me your love
When you held me in your heart
when I saw you prove your unconditional love for me
as you spread out your arms
nailed to that cross embracin' me
as my tears flowed into the rivers with your endless love
