Through Innocent Eyes
25 October, 2005
Author: Devilyangelic
Running though I never get anywhere,
for I don't have it in me not to care.
My hurt follows me wherever I may go,
leaving me deflated and feeling so low.
I wish I could stop my feet,
but they are stubborn defying defeat.
As they take me far from here,
but wherever I end up I'll shed a tear.
Fleeing from the hurt and the heartache,
but a million miles later my heart'll still break.
I want so much to hand in my running shoes,
as no matter how hard I try it seems I'm destined to lose.
Searching the night for the speck of a chance,
that I may have it in me to continue this dance.
Cha-chaing my way to and fro,
from situations in the past I had to go.
It dawns on me that I may run but I always return,
just giving myself time for the lesson I've had to learn.
Coming back now full of fight,
now that I have mending me in my sight.
Trust I give so easily,
as in others it's only the best I see.
No room in my heart for the belief of lies,
for I look at them all THROUGH INNOCENT EYES!!!
