Our Inner Shadows

It degrades you, simplifies you
It stands there and laughs away
It falls down and under
As you just stand there for the day
It belittles you and kills
It slithers and it'll lie
But all you could muster is
I wish you would just DIE
There is never a way
And no escape from what's true
For how can you fight
From the one who is you?

Small poem, wrote it in school. Just figured I'd post it before my next class.. Guess I'm disappointed with myself. |
