A Modern Maiden's Dream

You pull the covers over your head, once again a child
The years have seen Autumn leaves fall many times
You hear your father's soldiers scream, stranger at the gate!
No harm does this Knight mean, his silver blade is sheathed
The draw bridge is lowered, a stallion caries love through the castle gate
Fear and amour left outside the gate, this Knight stands bare and strong
You rush back to your maiden's bed cover your head, smile or cry?
You are so, confused then, you hear the knock upon your chamber door
You rise like the mist that gives life, to all the valleys in the world. Water flows
Through mountain streams, thunder roars, you open up, your chamber door
Again, you see in front of you, Autumn leaves began to fall, you reach out
And touch, the last leaf of spring, still fresh and green.

Princess Moon (71.40.28.18) -- Tuesday, November 15 2005, 04:02 pm I absolutely love poems about Knights and maidens, the knights so chivalrous and the maidens so in love. I loved this poem very much. It was so romantic, tender, and sweet for the maiden. Awesome writing Martin! |
martin Vann (4.253.67.39) -- Tuesday, November 15 2005, 06:41 pm We share many dreams, we do it quietly so, no one hears, and no one is hurt. This poem..., Johnny Cash was the Knight and June Carter was the maiden hidding herself, in her room. The chamber door, she opened. we will never forget this knight and his maiden June as she opened up her chamber door and gave us all, the music of their hearts. Just a simple draw bridge and a maiden's heart, has filled the world with love. |
