One To Sin

Many lessons learnt,
as I found out they weren't.
Just what they had professed to be,
as they smashed my heart right in front of me.
Leaving me to drown in their lies,
as they tore me apart with a thousand goodbyes.
Breaking promises as if they were spaghetti,
showering me with deceit that could have been confetti.
Stealing innocence away,
as they break my heart when I come out to play.
Feel as though they're light years ahead,
when mine are the only tears to be shed.
Lost is my childhood,
when they pressure me to do what they think I should.
Forcing me to grow up way too soon,
as memories fade of Button Moon.
In the playground,
seeking my innocence in the lost and found.
A shred I find scattered to the wind,
though I wasn't the one who sinned.
So each day,
I muster the strength to go back out and play.
Refusing to let any of them win,
as I find peace in the knowledge I wasn't the ONE TO SIN!!!
