Working For My Family's Heart
16 November, 2005

Git up there, you old mules, sara and sue, git up there
We have a family to feed, its hard to speak even to myself
As sara, sue and I plow this dusty field, I hear my children play
I see my wife washing all our clothes from this dusty field
Git up there, you old mules, sara and sue, git up there
We have a family to feed. Yes, I know you are tired, but
See my wife, now she is chopping wood, a man's job
Supper will be hot tonight, you will have oats and grain tonight
You plowed the ground for two miles today with the sun beating down
Tomorrow we will plant next year's crop. God I pray for rain to feed us all
At the supper table my wife and children gather round, then I hear the thunder
Oh God, I pray nourish our plowed ground. Tomorrow we plant our future
Supper was wonderful. We all had our fill and sara and sue got oats & grain
Tomorrow life begins once more. So nice tonight as I hold my wife in my arms
We sit by love's fire place, children asleep, listen to the rain fall, upon tomorrow
Sara & Sue, get a good night's sleep, we plant tomorrow. Thank God for the rain
